Stahlhuth/Jann - Dudelange

Software: | Hauptwerk IV |
Genre: | Romantic |
Description: | Ernest Grosjean (1844 - 1936) published "Pièces pour orgue ou harmonium", a set of 56 pieces in two volumes, in 1902. The first volume contains 33 easy pieces, that can be played without the use of pedals. The second half of this volume is a section called "Pièces Funèbres", pieces intended to be used during funeral services.
This prelude has the same overal structure as the preceding Offertoire bref I published a few days ago. The first half of the piece is simply repeated in the second half, transposed a quarter up and a short coda finishes the piece. As it is written in three part harmony, it is a lot less difficult to play than the preceding Offertoire bref.
The recording was done with the Hauptwerk software and the sampleset, made by Voxus, of the Stahlhuth/Jahn organ in the St. Martin’s church, Dudelange ( https://www.voxusorgans.com/en/product/dudelange).
