“Circumdederunt me” (2016) is based on the choral motet of the same name by Cristóbal de Morales (1500–1553).

Spanish composer F. Xavier Gelabert i Muntaner (b. 1976) was born in Manacor, Mallorca and was educated at the Conservatori Superior de Música de les Illes Balears and the European Musical Creation Workshop. From 2001–16, he was conductor of the chamber choir Ars Antiqua and has also been active as a musical director for opera productions. As a composer, Gelabert has written works in numerous genres including several chamber operas.
