Today, the first Sunday of Lent, nobody in Milan was able to participate in the Holy Mass. In reality CoVid19 is certainly not Manzoni's plague and its impact is - thank God - relatively limited: but for prudence our churches are closed, we don't know until when. So we could only attend the Mass broadcast on television, celebrated by our bishop.
It is not only a sad thing, but also disconcerting not being able to find ourselves together in a moment that for many of us is still so usual and above all desired: perhaps the virus does not have a great impact, but these limitations certainly confuse us.
I found this improvisation a couple of years ago and I thought it describes my mood well this morning.
