Erik-Jan van der Hel (* 1967) is a contemporary organist, composer and music teacher, living and working in Ermelo (Netherlands). Also an impressive improviser, he published some masterful 18th century styled organ works, very worth to play.
His new baroque style chorale partita on the Easter song "Heut triumphieret Gottes Sohn" includes the chorale tune and nine exciting and imaginative variations, recalling the way of i. e. Pachelbel perhaps would have done it.

For this execution I chose the impressive and masterly recorded OAM-sample of the Hus/A. Schnitger-organ of 1675/88 in Stade (D); I added little reverb.
