There's only one other upload of this work on CCH -and I'd not heard it prior to making my recording. I only came across it because it's name popped up as a suggestion when I began to upload my performance.
Agnus Dei uploaded it a few years ago using the sample set of St Bavo, Haarlem. Thank you David - a wonderful rendition on a most surprising choice of instrument!
My version uses the sounds which would be more likely anticipated for this arrangement of a short fanfare by Sir Arthur Bliss (1891 - 1975) who was Master of the Queen's Music from 1953 until his death. The work comes from a small volume published by Novello which includes 2 other fanfares and 5 short interludes - all arranged for organ by Basil Ramsey.
I first heard the 3 Bliss fanfares on an LP recording featuring a collection of tracks recorded in the 1960's by various organists on a number of English cathedral organs. These works were played by Christopher Dearnley on the organ (pre Mander rebuild) of St Paul's Cathedral, London.

All registration changes by divisional pistons - no sequencer usage. Right now my console has no swell pedals, so all dynamic gradations were achieved with stop changes.
