Carmen simply wells up with wonderful melodies and harmonies. I've spent a fair amount of time in orchestral pits as a timpanist and Carmen is one of those operas that you can play night after night and never tire of. I chose this sample set for Carmen because I think it has a sweetness that represents Bizet's sensuous orchestrations very well.
