Türke, Otto.
b. Oberbungwitz, Germany, Feb. 4th, 1832;
d. Zwickau, Oct. 31st, 1897.
Organist of St. Mary’s, Zwickau, 1865-97.
Concert Hall member jacko via the Forum alerted us to the re-dedication of the organ in the Westerkerk, Amsterdam and soon after an ORGAN MARATHON Live-orgelconcert from Geerten Liefting, Marco den Toom, Evan Bogerd, Gerwin van der Plaats and Sander van den Houten on You Tube.
Sander played Drie romantische koraalvoorspelen:
Liebster Jesu wir sind hier’ - J. Schneider (1805-1885)
Jesu meine Freude’ - H. Finzenhagen (1860-1914)
Nun ruhen alle Wälder’ - O. Türke (1832-1897)
I thought he played this piece Nun ruhen alle Wälder by Otto Türke in a very special way and it encouraged me to learn and upload the same piece here.
Sadly the concert is no longer available on You Tube.
