Description: | (b c1680; d Vienna, 10 April 1733). Austrian organist and composer.
He may have received his education at the Heiligenkreuz monastery, where another Johann Baptist Peyer (1651–1726) worked as camerarius major from 1693 to 1698; the younger (and possibly related) J.B. Peyer was active as organist and musical instructor there from 1698. He worked for the Empress Eleonora, widow of Leopold I, from about 1712 until her death.
To make further progress in the "Peyer parade" I practiced another little fuge. This time I played the demo of the Prague Baroque (1642-1673) South German organ model ( http://www.sonusparadisi.cz/en/organs/czech/prague-baroque-v-2.html). May be not many have noticed that Jiri prepared a V2.1 early in 2020. If Peyer has been in Prague, he might have played on this organ, who knows... |
