Don’t be fooled. This is not a piece of music, it’s a poem. Well, okay, it’s what the music world calls a ‘tone poem’ – it’s music that’s created to evoke a mental picture. And tonight, as I worked on integrating new speakers into the system for the digital organ at Bethany House, I noticed the sun setting. There seemed to be a slow build-up to the grand finale of brilliant colors, followed by a quick retreat into twilight. I hope – in this poem without words – that you get a sense of the summer sunset I experienced tonight!
(By the way, you'll definitely want to use headphones - the sound of this pipe organ is amazing!!) :)
