Sir Charles Hubert Hastings Parry was an English composer in the late 19th Century and may not be of quite the same stature as Schumann and other giants at the time, he was still among the most ingenious and endearing of the late Romantic composers, with a remarkable talent for compositions that are beautiful and powerful in their emotional content, and expertly wrought in their structure.
Parry is probably most famous for the substantial choral music he produced throughout his life including "Jerusalem", the English unofficial anthem and the numerous large scale anthems "I Was Glad", "Blest Pair of Sirens" etc. He actually wrote very little organ music, mainly just a few sets of chorale/hymn preludes where this comes from and is based on the lovely tune "Melcombe" that I have also played at the conclusion of the prelude.
I've once again used the Salisbury Cathedral Hauptwerk sample set which demonstrates some of the lovely gentler stops that are available, including the lovely Diapason No. 2 which has a nice warm sound.
