Mats Backlund (b. 1965) — Visa från Fölsvik (View from Fölsvik) (2020) for organ

Swedish composer and choral director Mats Backlund (b. 1965) was educated at the Academy of Music in Örebro where he studied singing and choral direction and was an active vocal soloist. In 2012, Backlund joined the faculty of the Ingesund Academy of Music to serve as musical director of the school’s choirs and to serve as director of “Songs for Life,” an initiative where he travels around the country to encourage choral singing. He is also the music director of Söt likör, the women’s chorus of Karlstad University.
