A baroque composition already again completely in the style of Bach, especially the polyphonic passages in all 3 parts.
In the prelude the full organ with a haunting motive and the rückpositiv with polyphonic playing alternate with the head theme of the Australian hymn.
In the fugue all 4 parts start one after the other, the pedal finally leads into a transition from D major to the most used key of the true Australian Hymn (Waltzing Mathilda) - E flat major. This beautiful song is performed completely in 3 voices with the rückpositiv and modulates back to D major, because the full organ takes up the fugue theme again and ends the fugue after one organ point.
The hymn, also performed with full organ, concludes the piece.
