This joyful and lively piece is from Hermann Schroeder's 12 Organ Carols for Christmas. In the early 1980's I was Organist und Chorleiter at the Katholische Stiftskirche in Bonn, just 30km from Köln, where Schroeder (1904-1984) had been professor at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz. I chose the Weinheim sample set for recording this piece because it is quite similar to the style, disposition, and voicing of the typical post-World-War-II organs that graced many of the Catholic churches in that part of the Rheinland, and in various other regions as well.
At present, I have also uploaded Schroeder's Advent carol "Es flog ein Täublein weisse", which is from the same collection. I plan to upload a few more of Schoeder's organ carols soon.
