chorale trio "Freu dich sehr, o meine Seele" (Orig.: "Ainsi qu'on oit le cerf bruire")

A few days earlier I uploaded the chorale trio "Wenn wir in höchsten Nöthen sein" of Gaël Liardon: https://www.contrebombarde.com/concerthall/music/41913).

This is another one of his really beautiful organ works, a trio based on the chorale tune “Freu dich sehr, o meine Seele". The original piece is named "Ainsi qu'on oit le cerf bruire" (Ps 42).

'Gaël Liardon (1973-2018) was a versatile Swiss musician, composer, organist, piano player, singer and songwriter, teacher, improviser, theorist and researcher, organizer of concerts and cultural events. He loved discovery and was interested in many musical styles.‘

His beautiful organ works are characterized by stylistic purity, clear voice guidance and musical simplicity. Liardon died at the age of only 44, but remains alive in his music. Few days ago we commemorated his date of death (+ 21.10.2018).
