Harvey Burgett (1944–2022) — Alle Menschen müssen sterben (1993) for organ
American composer Harvey Burgett (1944–2022) was based for many years in New York City where he was music director (and then emeritus) at the Church of St. Thomas More. Before his years in New York, he was based in Boston where he taught music theory at Boston University and was organist for First Church in Boston. Burgett also held positions in Florida as adjunct professor and university organist at Stetson University and Rollins College. Burgett’s compositions include symphonic and chamber music as well as many solo, vocal, choral, and sacred works. He was also an avid synchronized swimmer and won a gold medal at the 2017 FINA World Masters Swimming Championships in Budapest, Hungary.
