This short meditation on the well known hymn tune St. Columbia was published in a 1978 collection of organ hymn settings titled "From the Tabernacle". Utahn composer Robert M. Cundick has set this lovely Irish melody for two solo voices- one in the soprano and the second in the bass. The Aeolian-Skinner English Horn and Montre are the two solo stops highlighted in this recording.
Robert Milton Cundick (1926-2016) was born in Salt Lake City and spent most of his life living and working in Utah. He began playing the organ as a young boy and later studied with famed organist Alexander Schreiner who he later served with at the Mormon Tabernacle Organ.
