Today I want to start with a thematic series of recordings. I am collecting chorale preludes that are well suited for use in church services. All presented chorale preludes refer to the hymnal "GOTTESLOB ", which is the common prayer and hymnal of the Roman Catholic dioceses in Germany, Austria, South Tyrol as well as in the German speaking community of Belgium.
On my homepage
http://www.organist-christianmueller.de
which will go online in a few days, there is a list in which the chorale preludes are assigned to the song numbers of GOTTESLOB. There you can also find transpositions or modulations that match or lead to the key of the of GOTTESLOB. These can be downloaded free of charge as PDF files.
Both well-known and less well-known names of composers will appear. But the first one is the great master J. S. Bach. With his chorale preludes I want to go through the Advent and Christmas season and serve all the relevant songs of the hymn book GOTTESLOB.
So here the first recording for the series
Choral preludes to GOTTESLOB:
song number 554 "Wachet auf, ruft uns die Stimme"
0:00 min Choral prelude Wachet auf, ruft uns die Stimme, BWV 645
3:50 min Modulation by me and a improvised choral accompaniment
