Romanza (The White Rock)

The White Rock was the name of the farm where David Owen, the composer of the tune this piece is based on lived and died at the age of 29 in 1741, composing it, tradition has it, on his death bed. Thus the tune is known in English as David of the White Rock (Dafydd y Garreg Wen in Welsh).
