A couple weeks ago I found out about the inchindown oil tanks, 6 (now decommissioned) giant underground fuel storage tanks in Scotland used in WWII. The Tanks currently hold the world record for longest reverb time at somewhere over 110 seconds!
I have always dreamed of creating a set of organ pieces meant for such long reverb that it sounded like a time stretch drone. I dont think this piece is that, but its the first step. This is just a simple improv that's essentially a slow crescendo and diminuendo - the reverb is the star here.

The effect is remarkable, long smooth crescendos can be made just by varying the articulation, and stop additions and keyboard changes are hidden by the immersive reverberation. There is no digital volume control being done here except for the swell pedal!
