American composer Michael Calabris (b. 1984) is a native of Ohio was educated at the University of Akron and Cleveland State University. His compositional voice has been most significantly shaped by music of the ancient Mediterranean world, ancient Christian liturgical traditions, Jewish liturgical traditions (particularly the Ashkenazic tradition), sacred and secular music from the medieval and Renaissance eras, film and TV soundtracks, and popular music.
