This trio "a due bassi e canto fermo" is a quite special and unconventional composition. The two bass lines with the wild movements suggest to reflect the aggressive, hostile earth. The registration emphasizes this atmosphere, especially by the, here and there, unpolished sound of the Hautbois of the Positiv.
