Description:
Today is a national holiday in Spain; all shops are closed, except restaurants and bars.

The Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception celebrates the belief in the sinless lifespan and Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary, celebrated on December 8, nine months before the feast of the Nativity of Mary, celebrated on September 8. It is one of the most important Marian feasts in the liturgical calendar.

Copied from a desciption by Agnus_Dei.

(I hope you don't mind, Dave; you know so much more about liturgical matters than I do.)

Francisco Correa de Araujo (or Arauxo, or Acebedo) (1584–1654) was a Spanish organist, composer, and theorist of the late Renaissance.
