'Veni, veni, Emmanuel' consists of a synthesis of several gregorian antiphons, which have been sung in the week(s) before Christmas in vesper services. The German version (Cologne, 1710) was spread out as an Advent song through use in Jesuit's schools.

Liardon created a contemplative organ chorale in the style of Pachelbel.
