Jan Noordzij (b. 1964) — Fantasia Loisa (2019) for organ
“Fantasia Loisa” (2019) is cast in the form of introduction—toccata—chorale. The piece was named for and written in celebration of the birth of the composer’s second granddaughter.
Jan Noordzij (b. 1964) was born in Slikkerveer, Netherlands and grew up in Boven-Hardinxveld. In addition to his primary career (since 1997) as a funeral director, Noordzij has pursued extensive avocational activities as an organist and composer. He has studied organ with Peter Van de Velde. In 2012, Noordzij moved to Antwerp, Belgium and in 2015 was appointed organist-titulaire at Sint-Walburgiskerk, Antwerp.
