Trio in Canon (from Op177)

I tend to regard Merkel's music as rather "ordinary" and unremarkable, but I came upon this little trio this morning which I really rather liked and, I think, stands out from much of his output.

His opus 177, Orgelschule, is four books of exercises and short pieces by various composers to train organists in various aspects of playing. This short trio comes from the section on pedalling.
