Description: | Offertoire sur [Iste Confessor]
Dallier Henri (born in Reims in 1849, died in Paris in 1934)
Harmony teacher, organist at St Eustache then at la Madeleine...
Offertory on [Iste Confessor]
(my organ version)
Here are the verses of this hymn:
This Confessor consecrated to the Lord
Whose feast everywhere celebrates,
Here he has deserved the joy of accessing
To the mysteries of heaven.
He was pious, wise, humble, virtuous,
He was master of himself, chaste and peaceful,
As long as life on earth has animated
The members of his body.
Often near his holy tomb
Slaughtered organisms, some disease
That overwhelms them, are suddenly
Returned to health.
Also in his honor our choir on this day
Sing this hymn with joy:
May by his pious merits he come to our aid
Throughout these days.
