| Description: | This time I went for an extremely long ethereal pentatonic crescendo. A while back I got the chance to hear Neil Thornock's Planetarium live ( https://soundcloud.com/neilthornock/sets/planetarium). This was major inspiration for the style of this piece. I used six or so weights to hold down keys while I played. The long notes begin to pulsate at the extremely slight tuning differences, and the extra long reverb aids to smooth all the transitions. Try to guess where new stops are added!
I played this piece with an impulse response made by acs272 here: https://freesound.org/people/acs272/packs/13598/ of one the Inchindown oil tanks, so it sounds as if it was recorded on site. |
