Although the works of Antonio de Cabezón tend to get recorded on Spanish- or Italian-style harpsichords, they are also sometimes recorded on Flemish instruments--which is not inappropriate, as the courts of the Emperors Carlos V and Felipe II possessed several instruments made in the then-Spanish territories of Flanders and the Netherlands. Also, Cabezón sojourned in the Low Countries with Felipe's court from 1548 to 1551. I have recorded this particular piece on a very excellent Ruckers-style sample set from Sonus Paradisi. However, even with such a fine sample set, I have to admit that I find it fairly awkward to play this piece on a springy electronic keyboard lacking the light nuanced touch of an actual harpsichord.
