Robert E. Kreutz (1922–1996) — Young Jesus in the Temple (1980) for organ
Robert E. Kreutz (1922–1996) was a composer of primarily liturgical music, most active in the Catholic tradition. He was educated at the American Conservatory in Chicago and the University of California, Los Angeles. His best-known hymn, “Gift of Finest Wheat,” has appeared in many hymnals since its debut in 1976. Kreutz composed many works for organ, choirs, and congregations. For more than 30 years, he served as the music director at St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Lakewood, Colorado.
