It has been noted before that this piece shows a French influence: the central chordal section with its many suspended harmonies and ornaments has similarities with the opening Plein Jeu of a French suite. So the grand, stately sound of an authentic Plein Jeu combination should suit the piece. However what really makes the performance on this organ different, and perhaps controversial, is the pedal part - instead of the usual chorus on a 16' foundation we have a powerful 8' reed solo voice. On the positive side, I think it creates a rich and exciting sound and brings a new twist to the piece, do let me know what you think.
