Maguerite Thiéry was the second wife of the great organ builder AlexandreThierry (1647-1699). She learned organ in her youth (around 1680) but we don't know who was her teacher. The style is not far from that of Nivers or JN Geoffroy. Some put forward the name of Thomelin. This anonymous book is a precious testimony of the organ music beetwen 1660 and 1680. The pieces are short verses except a duo and the Offerte (offertoire). Some "Récits" are very singing pieces but too short... The Lorris sample allows an interpretation without any changes in the text thanks to the divided keyboard.
