English composer and church musician Barry Ferguson (b. 1942) was educated at Peterhouse, Cambridge. He held positions at Peterborough Cathedral (assistant organist, 1964–71), Wimbourne Minster (organist, 1971–77), and Rochester Cathedral (director of music/master of the choristers, 1977–94). Ferguson studied composition with Herbert Howells and has published various organ and choral works. He has fulfilled commissions for various organizations, including the Thomas Hardy Society, the Burton Art Gallery, and St. Paul’s Cathedral (London).
