Pastorale

Upload number 400 and just another neglected Pastorale by an unknown composer.
I thought i would continue doing something we do well here in Concert Hall, bringing un loved music to light.
Dedicated to David Lamb who has mentored me and many others in the playing and love of lesser known repertoir especially British music.

The name J F Heyde (pronounced Hide) conceals the identity of James H Foote the well known Dundee musician and music seller. He just wanted to hide his composing name.
He started to compose in his teens and has over 200 pieces of music including songs, anthems, pieces for piano and organ and his ‘war songs’. Music to two sets of poems by Joseph Lee, Ballads of Battle and Songs from Somewhere.

Information from the Dundee Courier and Advertiser June 6 1939 in a clipping sent to me by John Henderson. There is no other information to be found at present.
