Sample Producer: Piotr Grabowski
Sample Set: Eisenbarth, Friesach (2000)
Software: Hauptwerk IV
Genre: Classicism
Description:
I think this is probably my favourite piece by Haydn which I think it transfers well to the organ.

The "Lamentation"/"Lamentatione" Symphony (Haydn didn't give it the name) was probably written for Holy Week and is so-called because of its use of plainsong melodies used in the liturgies for Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Holy Saturday at Tenebrae or Matins. In this movement, the chant comes through the sparse but highly effective texture played by the oboe.
