American composer Leonard Danek (b. 1949) was educated at the University of Minnesota (BFA, MFA, PhD) where he studied composition with Paul Fetler. In 1994, he became professor of music theory, composition, and organ at Northwestern College in St. Paul, Minnesota. As a composer, Danek has written more than 400 works in a variety of genres, and he has received commissions and performances from various ensembles including the Houston Symphony Orchestra and the College Music Society. As a performer, he has given many solo recitals on both piano and organ throughout the midwestern USA. |
