Tomorrow will be my 40th birthday, which I'd like to celebrate together with my friends in a YouTube premiere --- so here's my "reverse bday present" for YOU! :-)
Those who already took a listen at the "Zanarkand" piece (see
https://www.contrebombarde.com/concerthall/music/45494 for reference) might have waited for this: The full concert with my HW organ play-along to the orchestra version, which normally would not allow an organ in there due to its filigree texture.
Just like the "Breath of the Pipes" album from last year, the "FF:X Full Concert" is a live orchestra recording, where I played along on my HW setup to add some depth and "extra warmth", this time featuring the Western German Broadcast Studio Orchestra ("WDR-Funkhausorchester") and master pianist Benyamin Nuss, who himself is an active participant and performer for the Final Fantasy series video game sound track.
The premiere can be accessed via the embedded video above the CB audio player --- I'd be happy to see you join in! The audio track uploaded to CB contains the CB-exclusive solo organ track (low bitrate due to the length) without the orchestra, which might be interesting for those who'd like to know how this would sound before the dubbing --- be warned, this is a total difference like night and day compared to the final result! For the full experience, you should DEFINITELY watch the video.
For those who own a 7.1 surround system, an 8-channel FLAC file can be picked up after the premiere to get an impression of what it will sound like in my living room:
