| Description: | Horace F. Watling (1882-1959), a blind organist, was a pupil, and subsequently professor a the Royal Normal College for the Blind in Upper Norwood.
He was an organ student of H. L. Balfour, and won in a competition for a "devotional voluntary."
This sweetly charming "Serenade" was published in 1914 by Stainer & Bell, as No. 41 in their "The Organ Recitalist" series.
It is" Dedicated to Alfred Hollins Esq.".
Alfred Hollins (1865-1942) was a brilliant composer and performer, much more well-known than Watling.
The score, courtesy of Dr. John Henderson, is attached below. I have no photos of Horace Watling to share, but I did attach one of Alfred Hollins.
