Here is another demo of the Onderhorst cabinet organ sample set combined with acoustic simulation.
The sample set was recorded close to the organ and therefore shows little of the acoustics. To hear an organ in its acoustic environment, you have to distance yourself. From a distance you will hear the roomreflections but from a distance the direct share of the sound will be different from the dry sound of the samples, softer and less wide and the frequency spectrum will be changed.
This can be simulated with an acoustics simulation program such as “Inspirata”, which was released by Inspired Acoustics last December (
https://www.inspiredacoustics.com/en/products/inspirata-workstation). I have used the “Lite” edition here, that was for free for some time as an introduction.
Inspirata comes with a Library of Spaces including several Churches even in the Lite edition.
For this recording, the cabinet organ has been virtually placed in the “Johanneskirche at Darmstadt”.
The sampleset of the cabinetorgan is available for HW (4.2.1 +) as well as for Grandorgue (
http://home.kpn.nl/legro/).
This time I used the GrandOrgue version with Cantabile as the (VST)host for Inspirata and VB-Voicemeeter audiomixer as a bridge between GrandOrgue and Cantabile.
