French organist and composer Jean-François Laffay (b. 1935) was born in Suresnes (Hauts de Seine) and studied with Jean Langlais at the Schola Cantorum in Paris. Raised in a Protestant family, Laffay held positions primarily in Lutheran and Reformed churches, including St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Paris, Courbevole Parish, and the Temple du Marais.
