Elegance and sophistication, but also restlessness and anxiety characterize Mozart's fortieth symphony. In the summer of 1788, a few years before his death, Mozart wrote his last three symphonies in a short time, over the course of nine weeks. The fortieth is the middle of the three. He composed over 600 works - and had 6 children :)
