31.10. we celebrate Reformation Day.
On this occasion, I would like to present my transcription of an improvisation in the north German baroque style by Sietze de Vries (NL).
It is a partita in four movements (chorale and three variations) on "Allein Gott in der Höh sei Ehr" - the German Gloria.
Allein Gott in der Höh sei Ehr
und Dank für seine Gnade,
darum dass nun und nimmermehr
uns rühren kann kein Schade.
Ein Wohlgefalln Gott an uns hat;
nun ist groß Fried ohn Unterlass,
all Fehd hat nun ein Ende.
(Nikolaus Decius, 1523)
I am very happy that Sietze kindly agreed to the publication of my transcript - as an attachment you will find the pdf-score with all four movements in the original versions of Sietze.
I have also added the last movement (Organo pleno con Ped. doppio) in a second version where I have created a (subjectively selected) mixture of both improvised variants from the repetitions of the first two chorale lines, what enables you to play the identical repetition.
This allows everybody to choose their preferred version.
Sietze recorded his improvisation in 2020 at a concert in Bochum with the Steinkirchen-OAM sample set:

For my rendition, I have choosen the marvellous Arlesheim-OAM set.
Enjoy listening and playing.
