Seven years ago our member Agnus_Dei started a Lenten hymn project.
Agnus_Dei (David) is a professional organist and allround musician. When young he was awarded a scholarship to be assistant organist in Ripon cathedral (England) . Only the very best get such a chance.
I joined the project and learned quite a lot of David's playing, he taught by example and was always willing to explain how and why.
I never had a better teacher.
When looking up music for the big Steinmeyer in Berlin among the usual stuff, I thought: Why not a British hymn and see how it sounds on this truly German wonderful instrument?
Hark! a herald voice is calling was my first contribution to the Lenten project.
I've loved it ever since.
This upload is dedicated to David: a truly marvelous musician and a great teacher
You mean a lot to your friends on the concert hall.
