Composer: Tallis, Thomas
Sample Producer: Sonus Paradisi
Sample Set: Caen - St. Etienne Cavaillé Coll
Software: Hauptwerk IV
Genre: Medieval and Renaissance
Description:
Thomas Tallis (1505 - 1585) English composer and organist.

He held various organist positions in his life, including at Dover Priory and the church at Waltham Abbey in Essex (where it is claimed King Harold is buried after dying at Hastings), before moving on to Canterbury Cathedral. He was also composer and organist for the Tudor Royals. During this time he would have had to keep switching between Roman Catholic and the new Church of England styles as monarchs changed.

Here is a little piece I assume based on the Gregorian chant Puer natus est nobis. The melody is played with the Flute Harmonique, Bourdon and Quinte of the Grand, the left hand plays with the flutes of the other two manuals.

Hope you enjoy.
