"La Méditation de Maurice Duruflé date de 1964 environ; l'auteur introduira le premier thème de cette oeuvre dans l'Agnus Dei de sa Messe Cum Jubilo en 1966. Les Duruflés avaient l'habitude de jouer cette pièce au cours des offices liturgiques. Elle peut néanmoins parfaitement trouver sa place au concert.
