Overture to Hansel and Gretel

This is the Edwin Lemare transcription of the lovely overture to the mini opera "Hansel and Gretel" by Engelbert Humperdinck. Humperdinck was very much a follower of Wagner (he even taught Wagner's son) and thus his music has some distinctly Wagnerian overtones. Many of the "songs" in the opera are well known although they do not feature much in the overture apart from the famous Angel Song which is predominant throughout.
