Reger wrote these small miniatures late in life.
The small works are no more than very beautiful and fitting harmonizations of the melodies found in the Lutheran hymnal.
The Steinmeyer organ, only about 15 years younger than the composition date of the pieces, is imho the finest instrument to play these small jewels on.
