Pavana Lachrymae from Heinrich Scheidemann is based on the song 'Flow my tears' from John Dowland, an English lutenist. Several composers used this song by Dowland, for example Sweelinck and Schildt.
I used the small positiv organ, built by Stanisław Pielczyk. It's mainly used for concerts and events for use as continuo instrument in an orchestra. So that's a perfect reason to add some reverb to the dry sound of this organ. Therefore I moved the organ from Poland to the province of Drenthe in the Netherlands. In just a few clicks I stationed it in the Magnuskerk in Anloo. In fact, I used the reverb files Prospectum made of the church room of the Magnuskerk.
I changed the temperament to Quarter-comma meantone.
When a piece is as good as this, we only need one good 8' stop to play it.
