Description: | choralis in alto
manualiter
So, Manualiter then.
I have the freedom to put the lively bass run into the pedal. This is what happened with the Walcker organ of the Melcer Chamber Music Hall, which is perfectly suited for this piece. By distributing the 3 voices between the two manuals and the pedal, an interesting registration is possible and there is also no problem that while 2 voices are crossing, one of the notes is switched off. I emphasise the lively character of the odd bar by tapping the last two eighth notes only briefly, and by playing the sixteenth notes legato only on the first note, while the rest are played staccato. I perform the ornaments shown in full and add an ornamented transition at a leading note.
Bars 134/135, where the last sixteenth note in the alto is tied into the following bar, sound a little strange, like an unpleasant syncopation - well, Bach must have thought of something .....
I'll fill in the last chords at the end a bit, I hope Bach forgives me. |
