A beautiful song from Friesland, the north of my home country, where the land is flat, a rough wind blows, where the sheep stand on the salt marshes and where the old pirates play "bosseln" in the afternoon and spin sailor's yarns in the evening over a "Friesengeist" or a "steifen Grog" - and also sing rustic songs, like this one. Lovely melody, isn't it?
The structure is in 3 parts. A - B - A - C - A. A is the song movement, B is a small trio and C is a fugue that is, well, a little more expansive in view of the short melody. The song movement (A) concludes the work.
Again we hear the Erfurt Büßleben organ, which I like more and more, and whose Pleano suits the rough character of this piece very well.
