Manfred Schlenker (b. 1926) — Spielstück und Fuge in e (1994) for organ
German church musician and composer Manfred Schlenker (b. 1926) was born in Berlin and educated in Halle. In 1956, he became cathedral cantor in Stendal. From 1974 until his retirement in 1988, he was cantor at Greifswald Cathedral while also serving as the head of the Institute for Church Music and Musicologist in Greifswald. Schlenker composed many works in numerous genres, primarily church music. In 2017, he was awarded the Verdienstorden der Bundesrepublik Deutschland (Federal Cross of Merit with Ribbon).
